what if the use of Soul-fire physically altered the users appearance with prolonged use. It doesn't have to be anything big, maybe it only makes tattoos or something far less ordinary (not that magically appearing tattoos are ordinary but they can be passed off as so) to wings or even something else. Just what would harry's reaction be to these changes.

thanks. even if you don't fill the prompt. I was reading one of the the wing fics that was completed in the overflow meme ( http://dresden-kink.dreamwidth.org/1288.html?thread=1371144 , the second on not the first) though they are both good) when the prompt came to me, i sort of kept the wings as an idea but honestly I'd prefer the tattoo's too.

oo! did you ever read Sunshine by Robin McKinley-in which magical tattoes are a giveaway for undercover wizards because they are protection, sometimes creatures or spells for the practitioner to use? It was kind of a throwaway notion in the book, but would be great if his tattoo were a focus for the soulfire- not very practical losing the use of his hand, after all!

It's worth reading- jsut about the most interesting and unique magic and vampire-infested world I've ever run across- and I've run across most of them!
