So, while thinking about how I would fill a prompt I am Totally Not Filling, I got to thinking about a favorite historical figure (Elizabeth I) and how she would fit into the Dresdenverse. (Did she have ties to the Sidhe? Was the whole "married to my country" thing literal? Was Anne Boleyn really a wizard? Etc.) And then I thought, well...

Maybe some of you guys have favorite historical figures or time periods, too, which would look interesting in the light of the Dresdenverse. And hey, there are long-lived characters who've been around for centuries and could very well make appearances. Or just take a person/historical event/legend and reinterpret it. Lea and John Keats? The Summer Court and the court of Akhenaten? The reaction of ancient beings to the first nuclear bomb? Could be serious, silly, whatever. I'd just like to see the universe expanded and contextualized a little.

Well, I'm no history geek understatement of the century, but Queen Victoria has always been my favourite British monarch. I don't actually know bugger all about her, but she nevertheless always appealed to me as a historical figure. So if someone more knowledgeable than me can write Queen Vic in DF universe, then that would be very cool. :)

I have it in my head that the Fairy Courts(all) started the revolutions of 1848 and had their hands in with Charlemagne.

YES YES YES. Especially the story of Akhenaten. I just love the idea of the Sidhe interacting with non-Anglo cultures (and maybe beings equivalent in power?) The Sidhe of the Winter Court set up an embassy in Istanbul, circa 1560, as neutral ground, and open negotiations with supernatural beings who control Persia and the Sinai? Titania is pissed because the Khmer are creating a palace/temple complex more impressive than her own?
You know that story about how, in the midst of the October Revolution, Leon Trotsky went alone into the headquarters of the imperial garrison at Petrograd and convinced the soldiers to lay down their weapons and join the socialist cause? Trotsky vs. Mab at the Winter Palace, Y/Y?

Oh, I can have some fun with this. Esp. since there's a line somewhere about Kemmler being the most powerful necromancer since the fall of the Roman Empire, and I'm a Classics nerd.

Or I could just have Theodore Roosevelt punching Outsiders to death with his Bear hands. Or hunting with the Erlking. Or both.

Dear freakeng lord yes. Teddy/Erlking might be the truest love possible.

Actually, I think Teddy's a Scion of the Erlking.

...THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!

Eb's citations of some of his actions as Blackstaff would make interesting reading. And there was another historically-relevant prompt about Eb a while ago, maybe? (Or I could have been dreaming.)

ooh- lots of play for that in French History- the Plantagenets connection to the fay, Jeanne d'Arc, The Templars, the Comte St. Germain who claimed to have discovered the philosopher's stone, and one of the noble ladies memoirs him visiting her father when she was a child and meeting him again at court, same apparent age, when she was old... there are so many more!
