3) MANDATORY WARNINGS/CONTENT NOTES if there is dubcon or noncon, underage characters in sexual situations, major character death, suicide, self-harm, and/or graphic descriptions or extensive discussions of abuse.
Please consider trigger warnings for any other widespread triggers in your fill, such as natural disasters, or specifying instances of harm, such as eating disorders.

Edit 5-14-15 So 3+ years later, the only comments this post is getting are spam comments. I've changed the settings to screen all comments to discourage that. If you leave a legit comment, I will unscreen it. Thanks, all. I had a great time.

Warnings: Character death
It takes her two hours of brutal, murderous rampage through Chicago before retribution is in clear sight. Grey cloaks are swift approaching. No worries. All in the plan.
Today, this very hour, justice will prevail.
Maggie prepares to defend herself, having found herself cornered, but the handful of utter sheep take some cue from their leader and do not advance. Their Commander towers over the battlefield, surveying her bloodybloomingbeautiful carnage, as she recognizes him with comtempt. He barks out an order for her to stand down, and though his voice is sharp and he looms like nobody's business, Margaret Angelica Mendoza (Dresden, although she sure doesn't know that) (Carpenter, although she disowned them weeks ago) is too self-righteously livid to cede to fear. She has come too far to buckle beneath cheap intimidation tactics employed by moldy old bullies. And she is too insane to fuss with the finer details in life. Like self-preservation.
So she laughs in the face of the foul System and drawls out breathlessly, "Maggie Mendoza. Pleasure to make your acquaintance; I've wanted to meet you for a very long time."
The man before her narrows his eyes just slightly in consideration. Beyond that, his face is otherwise blank. Cold. "Miss Mendoza, you have broken the Laws of Ma—"
"Fuck your Laws. There's nothing as useless and disgusting," she tears out, and lashes out with hastily gathered power, quick as she can with all the fury she can put behind it. Her opponent is quicker.
"Miss Mendoza, there's still hope for you. If you turn from black magic, I will vouch for you before the rest of the White Council, and take you on as an apprentice. You're young. Young enough that I could pull it off. And I'd guide your growth, keep you straight."
This actually gives her pause, and for a few, unsteady moments, Maggie is nearly frozen up with surprise. This is not how things go. Who just lets a warlock live, regardless of age?
He seems to consider her, and speaks again, but softly this time, "You have the look of your mother. Maggie," he addresses her a third time, and his familiar use of her name grates, "I don't think she'd object if I were to teach you. Please. Susan wouldn't want—"
It's here Maggie realizes the name she heard is not Charity but Susan and it snaps her out of her daze. She remembers what she came here to do. Rage floods her gullet, and a shameful blush stains her cheeks as she shrieks, "Don't you dare! Don't you say a word about her! You have no right! My parents are long gone, because you killed them! In cold blood! And you think to be a master over me?! You exemplify everything wrong with the White Council of Wizards. I'll kill you, and tear down your filthy, rotting, outdated company of stupid old men!," punctuating her last three words with blasts of hostile, malicious magic.
He deflects the energies well enough, but something in the Warden's expression shifts, and he averts his eyes lest she sees his soul. Any fight he may have had seems to die before her eyes, but he intones, "This will not be a fight you can win, Maggie. Turn back, and live."
Margaret Mendoza is too far gone to care about that. Too full of hate to be reasoned with. Too accustomed to deceit and abandonment to accept a hand held out to help her. For the two-and-a-half years since her talents appeared, this is what has fueled her, kept her running. Harry Dresden has moments left on the clock, she knows.
Two minutes later, all of Maggie's meticulous contrivances, the idiot proof trap she set for a wizard, are lain to waste. He holds her fast as she lays dying. Maggie looks up into the haunted, gaunt face of the fearsome Warden Dresden, and with a last effort of will, spits.

So apparently Maggie Jr. is Luke Skywalker. And Harry is, uh, Darth Vader. I wonder what he thinks of that. On another note, I wrote dialogue. I can't believe it. Also, I'm new to this posting thing and it took me forever to figure out what to do for headers. Sorry, mod.
