Who's in your dream cast?

Community Casting

How it works:

1. Reply to the character's comment with your ideal casting choice. (If there's no comment yet, go ahead and make one.)

2. Or ideal choices, but please keep it to one choice a reply.

3. Include contextual information if you'd like, include a description of the character if you'd like to remind everyone. The more you can share the better; but if you want your choice to speak for itself, that's fine too.

4. No holds barred: your choice doesn't have to be an actor, doesn't have to be the right age right now, doesn't have to be living. Go chromatic if you'd like, play with gender if you'd like, if you want to cast a character at a different age, go for it.

5. You must include an alt attribute and/or a description following your images/links. Want some help? Read here. eta: If you forget, you'll get one reminder and a chance to repost. After a couple days, any

6. Keep your image sizes reasonable, please. That's to your own discretion, of course, but remember that people are viewing this on all sizes of devices. You don't want to make them scroll. If a mod feels your image size is excessive, we'll let you know and give you a chance to repost. No more than 10 images a comment.

7. Casting is srs business. Be respectful when you comment on someone's choice, even if you don't agree; and, be respectful if someone doesn't agree with you.

8. All other community rules are in effect.

Everyone with a comment so far as I add them! (hopefully alphabetically, by last name, or single name or title if that's all we know)

Masaharu Morimoto! (I know he's Japanese I'm sorry he's just so big and friendly.)

Friendly like a puppy.

With the knowledge that Mouse is the best ever and he can totally cook like a champ?

Bonus points if Martin Ted Allen is guest judging?

Do we have to cast humans as Mouse? Because, frankly, I'd rather cast two Caucasian Shepherd Dogs--one an adult and one a puppy.

Large black and tan dog with an open-mouthed smile. Looks like the most good-natured dog in the world. And, given the size of Caucasian Shepherd Dogs, he's roughly the size of a bear.

And here's a Caucasian Shepherd Dog with a grown woman.

The woman is on the left. She has brown hair tied back in a ponytail or a bun (I can't tell which), and is wearing a beige-and-cream horizontally striped sweater and beige slacks. One arm supports the dog's forepaws; the dog, which is beige and black, appears to be standing on its haunches.

Oh, and the dog is both taller than and twice as wide as the grown woman.

Puppy! Ahem. Sorry. Okay--it's a three-month-old puppy with paws and a head that both look too big for the rest of him. He's grey with a white bib, is very fluffy and has the happiest and most loving expression you could imagine. Faced with this puppy, Harry would not have a chance.

(And I apologize if this is not what was wanted...but this is actually what I'd cast for Mouse.)

PUPPY. You know, I used to struggle to picture Mouse without him becoming cartoonish in my head, but oh my! Very big very doggy dogs.

Humans aren't at all required. The only reason I have a human Mouse casting choice is because of this fic.

That is one HUGE dog! (middle pic) I've always pictured Mouse very slim and lithe and with short fur. Not based on any real dog at all. He's Tibetan in origin though, so lots of fur WOULD be sensible!

(As far as I can tell all of the dogs paws are touching the ground in that pic though?)

Straight up tallest dog breed out there today, these guys get huge. They've got scruffy/wiry fur, lean bodies made for the hunt, and are real sweethearts with the family. They make great pillows too. Taken from the AKC website "an old Irish proverb describes him perfectly: 'Gentle when stroked, fierce when provoked.'"

Image: A woman standing behind a large grey dog with scruffy fur. The dog's head comes up to about the woman's collar bone.

Image: A large grey dog with scruffy fur standing on its hind legs while its paws rest on a man's shoulders. The dog's head is well above the man's own.

Image: A woman resting her head on a large grey dog with scruffy fur. The dog almost completely hides her from sight.

Or, if this can't be Mouse, then I at least want the breed for dog!Harry. ;)

Ahahaha, seconded! You should post a link to this in the Harry thread -there's already genderswap and chromatic, why not some animal transformation? ;)
